Jesús de Jiménez 2018 – Spruce / Cypress

Jesús de Jiménez was born in Gilena/Sevilla in 1973. There he also owns his own workshop, where he builds his instruments for many years. He is a flamenco guitarist himself and that is probably why his guitars are outstanding in terms of playability and sound. It is not without reason that he is considered one of the most talented and promising luthiers of the next generation in the flamenco scene. Well-known flamenco guitarists like Vicente Amigo, Dani de Morón, Nino de Pura, Rafael Riqueni, Manolo Franco etc. play his instruments. Paco de Lucia was also one of his customers.

This guitar belonged to a professional guitarist from France and you can hear that he played a lot on it. The sound of this guitar is flamenco puro. This is what a good Blanca should sound like. It has a crisp tone and sounds very balanced. The bass is powerful and growly and the treble has a nice warm tone. The top is made of high quality German spruce with a beautiful grain, the sides and back are made of Spanish cypress. The head is adorned with a good SCHALLER tuner. The playability of this guitar is outstanding, the fingers jump almost automatically to the right place, the hands have to work very little.

The guitar is very well maintained and has only slight signs of use and nails.

The previous owner had installed a pickup. This was removed by the master Jesus de Jimenez himself and the hole was closed with a wooden knob.
